“NCIS” season 17 is set to return after it was officially renewed by CBS. Prior to its renewal, there were many rumors that Mark Harmon will not return to reprise his role as Jethro Leroy Gibbs and many reasons for exit were posted as well.
It was alleged that one reason has something to do with his poor health. They said that the actor will be 68 years old now, and he probably will not be able to keep up with the acting demands in the police procedural drama. Plus, they said that an old illness is taking its toll so he will just leave the show.
Moreover, it was also rumored that Harmon would not be in “NCIS” season 17 because of the alleged conflicts with the staff. This story started when Pauley Perrette left the show and posted some cryptic messages via social media, where she was implying that she was abused for years while on the set of “NCIS.”
Pauley Perrette’s accusations
The actress who played Abby Sciuto until 2017 lashed out and attacked Mark Harmon although she did not mention his name at first. Her way of telling the story also gave away who he was referring to so it is not a secret anymore that her main reason for leaving the show was the veteran actor.
It appears that the conflict is not yet over and amid the upcoming return of “NCIS season 17, she once again posted a puzzling message that stated she is terrified of Harmon that is why there is no way she is coming back for the show’s 17th season.
“No, I am not coming back! Ever! And please stop asking,” she tweeted when someone asked if she has plans of returning to “NCIS” season 17. “I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is safe and Happy You’ll love it!”
CBS responded to Perrette’s allegations
Early this month, during the TCA summer press tour, Kelly Kahl, the CBS president of entertainment, addressed the issue between Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette that was brought up again recently.
“I can’t speak to what she’s addressing in her tweets,” Deadline quoted Kahl as saying. “She came to us with a workplace concern, we immediately investigated it and resolved it to everyone’s satisfaction, and we’re very happy to have her on the air with us this year. I don’t think she’d be back with us if she had huge concerns.”
Meanwhile, Mark Harmon is sure tor return on “NCIS” season 17 as he just renewed his contract with CBS. The premiere date of the drama is not yet available as of this time.
