Papa Johns launched its first NFT collection, and customers will be able to buy digital versions of three of the brand's popular global pizzas. These tokens are convertible to real-life rewards, which will be offered soon.
Papa Johns partnered with OneRare for its non-fungible token or NFT drop. The digital collectibles are available at the latter’s Foodverse metaverse platform. OneRare is the world’s first virtual world space for the global food and beverage industry.
The pizza chain’s first batch of NFTs is offered in three flavors which are the most loved by customers in its restaurants. Fans can find the pizza digital collectibles on OneRare’s Foodverse. The three flavors are Papa Johns’ Super Papa’s Pizza, Vegan Cheese Garden Special, and Spicy Chicken Ranch Pizza.
The pizza NFTs are exclusively available at OneRare Kitchen. The company hopes that jumping into the world of digital tokens will help its brand to remain relevant for future generations of customers.
“We are committed to staying ahead of the curve and exploring innovative technologies like NFTs and web 3.0,” Jordan Tapan Vaidya, chief executive officer at Papa Johns UAE, KSA & Jordan, said in a statement. “This not only positions our brand at the forefront of the industry but also helps us capture the attention and loyalty of the next generation of consumers who are eager for cutting-edge experiences and our tie-up with OneRare is a step in that direction.”
Restaurant News further reported that through its team-up with OneRare, customers of Papa Johns will also get a chance to see some glimpse of the restaurant’s history and its internal workings. In particular, fans may get a peek at some of the pizza chain’s most popular pizza recipes.
Meanwhile, Papa Johns is also planning to turn its NFT into a loyalty experience for its customers. It is aiming for real-world applications of its digital tokens, and this may happen very soon.
“NFTs offer a fantastic feature of true ownership and allowing loyalty programs for holders of NFTs and we are working with our brand partners to bring these perks,” Supreet Raju, OneRare’s founder, said. “One day soon, we hope to allow these NFTs to be swapped for real meals at restaurants.”
