MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 18, 2017 -- NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ:NXPI), a leader in IoT solutions, today announced its plans to add support for the Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in on its Android Things. This will work to reduce product time to market and enable developers to harness the power of the Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in.
By supporting the Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in to Android Things pre-certified SOMs, NXP plans to enable Android developers to utilize their existing knowledge and technologies to productize new IoT applications and devices with a wider array of services and provide higher value to customers.
“Integrating voice and streaming audio services into a product can be a complex and difficult task for any developer. This will enable shorter time to market for our customers with feature rich products,” said Geoff Lees, senior vice president and general manager of the microcontroller business line at NXP. “Android Things has enabled us to get customers from product definition to ramping into production easily and seamlessly.”
NXP’s Android Things Pre-Certified SOM
