“Narcos” season 4 is now set in stone. What's more, the show will tackle an entirely different story from the previous seasons.
The crime drama will mainly feature a new empire built by a drug cartel. It will highlight the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel that was first organized in 1980.
Trailer
“Narcos” season 4 is also called “Narcos: Mexico,” and based on the new trailer the drug-trafficking crime series is set in a new location and with it, a new boss is coming as well. It was revealed that this time, the story will take place in Mexico, moving away from the original location of Colombia that was featured in the first three seasons.
Plot
“Narcos” season 4 will center on the cat-and-mouse game between the new drug cartel boss, Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna), and DEA undercover agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Peña). The period is the 1980s.
The upcoming season will center on the origins of the modern drug trade that started a war with the DEA. In other words, “Narcos” season 4 is going back to its roots so it will not continue the story of Pablo Escobar. "The origins of the Guadalajara cartel are in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so Narcos is going back in time," executive producer Eric Newman told The Hollywood Reporter.
Some of the confirmed cast members apart from Peña and Luna are Alyssa Diaz (Mika Camarena), (Benjamin Arellano Felix), Clark Freeman (Ed Heath), Alfonso Dosal Ernesto Alterio (Salvador Osuna Nava), Gerardo Taracena (Pablo Acosta) and Fernanda Urrejola (Maria Elvira).
Air Date
“Narcos” season 4 was first said to arrive in September but it seems this is not the case as Netflix finally announced an exact date. The series will return on Nov. 16 and fans can watch 10 full episodes of the revamped drama.
