Netflix shows and movies to watch in January 2020

Netflix is the go-to platform among the younger generation of movie lovers as the service allows them to watch their favorite shows and movies at their own pace and schedule. For those looking for something to binge-watch in January, here are the upcoming releases on the platform.

January 1

For those who want to do something new this coming New Year, there’s a new show to watch on Netflix. It’s called “Messiah” and will premiere on the platform on January 1.

Another new show that will launch on New Year is “Spinning Out,” an ice skating drama. It will star Kaya Scodelario and January Jones.

January 3

“Anne with an E" Season 3 will premiere on the platform on the 3rd of January. It will be the final season of the series which is an adaptation of “Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

January 8

Cheer” season 1 will premiere on the 8th of January. It is a documentary series about the challenges that the Navarro College's competitive cheer squad had to face to win the national title.

January 10

For fans of RuPaul, the new show “AJ and the Queen,” which will premiere on the 10th of January, is something to look forward to. Well, RuPaul plays as a drag queen herself who’ll lend a hand to an 11-year-old girl get back the money stolen from her.

January 15

For those who love comedy, “Grace and Frankie” season 6 will arrive by the 15th of January. It has a very interesting plot about two women who decided to live together when their husbands fell in love with each other.

January 17

There will be three releases on the 17th of January. “Ares” is a Dutch psychological series where two friends suddenly realize that power can sometimes come at a terrible price while “A Fall from Grace” is a thriller film by Tyler Perry. The third released is “Sex Education” season 2 for those who prefer some comedy-drama.

January 24

For those looking for something supernatural, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” part 3 should do the trick. The teenage witch returns and this time, she’s prepared to go to hell and back to save her boyfriend.

Those who followed the series shouldn’t miss the release of “The Ranch” Season 4 (part 8). This will be the finale of the show, which stars Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliott, Debra Winger, and Elisha Cuthbert.

January 30

“The Stranger” is a British eight-part psychological thriller miniseries. It will star The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage and is based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name.

January 31

For fans of the animated tragicomedy, the “Bojack Horseman” Season 6 – part 2 will be released on the 31st of January. Another series “Ragnarok” will premiere on the same day as well.
