“New Amsterdam” episode 16 is going to be another day for Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) to show his genuine desire to help people and boost the hospital's reputation. Despite a record-breaking harsh blizzard in New York, he decides to go out on mini rescue mission. However, he could also be putting himself in danger in the process.
The brief preview for “New Amsterdam” episode 16 successfully depicts a very gloomy day. It starts with a scene where workers are clearing the entrance to the hospital as thick layers of snow begin to block the way and the music background is perfect to set the right mood for this episode. Max stares outside while obviously looking worried.
He then tells his hospital staff that people cannot get to them because of the weather condition so they “need to bring this hospital to them.” Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) does not look very excited about the idea possibly out of worry for what could happen to Max in “New Amsterdam” episode 16.
True enough, they find a number of people facing various sorts of medical emergencies in “New Amsterdam” episode 16. Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims), at one point, digs up an almost unconscious man buried in thick snow who could already be suffering from hypothermia.
Unfortunately, the harsh blizzard also takes a toll on Max’s health in “New Amsterdam” episode 16. While walking with Dr. Sharpe looking for other people in need, Max feels weak and sits on the sidewalk and this immediately worries Helen. She is the perfect character to be with Max in this situation considering she has been helping him since he was diagnosed with cancer.
“New Amsterdam” episode 16 is titled “King of Swords” that could be a reference to the same name tarot card. An upright King of Swords, generally, refers to a person with brilliant leadership skills and is believed to be very intellectual. New episodes air every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
