‘New Girl’ season 6’s episode 17, titled “Rumspringa,” is set to follow Nick and Schmidt as they organize a day trip for Jess before she steps in as her school’s new principal. Meanwhile, Cece attempts to help Winston finalize his divorce from estranged wife Rhonda.
The synopsis for episode 17 posted on TV Guide states, “Nick (Jake Johnson) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) plan a relaxing day trip for Jess (Zooey Deschanel), who is nervous about taking over as principal, but the outing takes a surprise turn.
Meanwhile, Cece (Hannah Simone) helps Winston (Lamorne Morris) try to finalize his divorce from Rhonda (Sonequa Martin-Green), but gets caught in the middle of a series of never-ending pranks involving him and Aly (Nasim Pedrad).”
Jess can always look to her friends to make her feel better. It seems that Nick and Schmidt are set on organizing a day trip for her in the upcoming episode in support of her new position as her school’s principal. The main protagonist is seemingly anxious and may need some time to unwind before she steps into a job full of new and overwhelming responsibilities.
The promotional photographs posted on Spoilers Guide hints that Jess’ friends will take her to a fair as part of their “relaxing” day trip. One of the photographs shows booths selling Viking hats while another image shows Nick holding up what looks to be a colorful quilted jacket. It seems that the boys will use Jess’ love for the crafts to give her a good time.
According to Christian Post, Jess’ anxiety may be attributed to the fact that she always served as a school teacher and not a head of a school. Despite Nick and Schmidt’s good intention, plans will not progress as they planned.
Meanwhile, Cece will get her hands full with helping Winston finalize his divorce proceedings from Rhonda. Winston is technically still married to Rhonda despite his proposal to Aly.
‘New Girl’ season 6’s episode 17, titled “Rumspringa,” is scheduled to air on Fox on February 21, 2017. It will be followed by episode 18, titled "Young Adult," scheduled for February 28.
