“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is right around the corner and the police procedural drama is nearing its 100th episode, Carter Matt reported. As can be expected, the showrunners are keeping their lips tight about the details regarding the next installment.
But given that the 100th episode always features a major plot development for most TV series, it’s safe to assume that the writers have something up their sleeve for this upcoming milestone. It’s still unknown what this development is going to be but it’s likely going to start in the fourth episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 as it’s the 99th episode of the police drama.
Showrunners can set the stage for whatever story they have in mind for this episode, with its conclusion being resolved in the 100th episode. But given how the previous installment ended, this special episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 may have already been set in motion.
Season 4 saw an attempt on Special Agent Dwayne Pride’s (Scott Bakula) life. As such, he’s going to be out of the picture for some time while LaSalle (Lucas Black) and the rest of the unit try to find the hit woman responsible for the attempted murder. And because of Pride getting sidelined, “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 will add a new member to the team to temporarily take over the agent’s role.
Necar Zadegan has been cast as Hannah Khoury, an agent with a background unique from the New Orleans unit and who is set to bring “an international flavor” to the show. Her travels and her intelligence work will prove useful in “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5, providing an outsider’s insight on how to catch the assassin that almost took Pride’s life.
It’s still unclear whether this development will transition to the milestone episode of the show and fans will have to wait for the fifth installment in order to truly find out what is in store for the New Orleans team. “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is slated to premiere on Sept. 25, picking up from where it left off following the cliffhanger that occurred in the previous installment.
