New Overwatch Insurrection Announcement Details Leaked Accidentally

Blizzard has been promising to make a huge announcement this week pertaining to a new event in Overwatch. That announcement leaked earlier than the company hoped when a clip was uploaded to the PlayStation France account. It contained the details that included the Insurrection event and a new map called King’s Row.

Aside from the new map, which was one of the first during the game’s beta phase, there also appear to be new content and new four-man team events to go with the new development. There will be a horde-style gameplay element where players fight off an onslaught of enemies, Polygon reports, and Overwatch fans also get new skins for some of their favorite characters.

More than just providing players with more goodies to be excited about, the event is also an opportunity to learn a little more about the backstory of the game, which is sadly missing due to the absence of a single-player mode. As a result, Blizzard has to fill in the gaps with these events and this time, it would seem that the story centers around the incident called the Omnic Uprising.

The accidentally revealed trailer has since been taken down from PlayStation France’s YouTube account but it stayed up there long enough for the word to spread and details to be rigorously investigated. In the new event itself where players will need to survive waves of Omnic enemies, the characters that will be available are Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy, and Torbjörn.

Blizzard will also be throwing in several unlockable items, numbering in 100 overall. Aside from skins, the new event will yield sprays, poses, and emotes, Forbes reports.

Insurrection will launch on April 11th and will last until May 1st. this should provide players with plenty of time to enjoy the new mode, new enemies, unlockable and so much more. Heck, they might not even need to spend a dime.
