The award was given by Luis Lopez, ex-president of the tourist entity, to Juan Derudi, Corporate Director Nexus Global Sales, who represented the company during the fair and was in charge of working with operators from around the world with the help of Javier Vidal, Director of Business Development USA for NexusTours.
“Receiving this award gave us great motivation to continue investing and innovating to consolidate the development of this destination and make it the leader worldwide. Since our founding in 1996, the Dominican Republic has been an essential market for Nexus and it is impossible to imagine our success without the help of our team and that of the authorities, hotels and businessmen of this sector,” said Derudi.
During the event, NexusTours had a special participation as one of the main hosts, and interacted with important actors in the tourism sector, travel-agency representatives and tour operators, with the aim of displaying their wide offer of excursions and ground transportation, and the quality of its on-site services.
Furthermore, Ruben Gutierrez, Nexus Managing Director, thanked everyone who made the first edition of this event possible, in which only four companies received awards. “I want to thank Jose Aparicio and Isabelle Walgeback, and their team of over 300 professionals in the Dominican Republic, for bringing the company to the highest level. We’ve set new records every year, and in 2018 we reached the 500,000 passenger mark, in airports and tourist areas all around the country, providing excellent service and high levels of satisfaction as evidenced by our customer surveys.”
The current structure and strategy of NexusTours has made it a role model for the tourism sector, consolidating its position as the leader in destination services on the island and in the region, with over 20 years of experience and a presence in 15 countries and 48 destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.
