The Wall Street Journal reported Israel may need about $10 billion after 2028 to pay for U.S.-made military equipment orders, a potential complication for President Donald Trump’s plan to phase out U.S. military assistance.

The Journal said its estimate drew on a State Department document submitted to Congress. It covers orders for U.S.-made military equipment that remained outstanding on April 1.

Anadolu Agency reported that the money could come from U.S. military assistance, Israel’s government budget or both. Its account did not say which source would ultimately cover the expense.

Anadolu said a 10-year arrangement provides $3.3 billion a year through 2028.
