Jain brings a wealth of business knowledge and acumen to the NTFB both regionally and abroad. He founded three successful large-scale, India-based IT service companies, serves as the Chairman and CEO of Access Healthcare and is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Perot Jain, an investment firm with a focus on technology. Additionally, Jain serves on numerous boards including the East West Institute an international non-profit, non-partisan "think and do" tank that focuses on international conflict resolution.
Since joining the NTFB board in 2011, the organization has undergone a significant transformation, committing to increase food distribution to 92 million meals by 2025 with a continued emphasis on providing nutritious foods.
“Anurag is an innovative, passionate and proven leader,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “I am constantly impressed with his thoughtfulness and drive to see the Food Bank succeed. As we work to meet the needs of hungry North Texans, I am confident that having Anurag lead our board will bring us one step closer to closing the hunger gap and bring the right food to the right place at the right time for people in need.”
A major part of the organization’s plans to increase food distribution involves being more connected to the community that the Food Bank serves. The NTFB recently broke ground on their Perot Family Campus- a new facility in Plano that will house the NTFB’s volunteer and distribution efforts. Additionally, the Food Bank is also making changes to their feeding network with efforts underway to create mini food banks across the region that will service smaller agencies. Combined, these changes will allow for better service to clients across the 13-county NTFB service area.
“I feel privileged to serve on the NTFB Board and it’s a special honor to be named Chair,” said Anurag Jain, newly appointed Board Chair for the North Texas Food Bank. “I am passionate about the issue of hunger and have experience with technology and innovation; serving the North Texas community via the Food Bank allows me to combine all of these interests in a way that is very fulfilling. I feel proud knowing that by working together, we will close the hunger gap in North Texas and ensure equitable food access for all hungry children, families and seniors.”
About the North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit hunger-relief organization with its primary distribution center in Southwest Dallas, and administrative headquarters located in the Dallas Farmers Market. Each day, NTFB provides access to more than 190,000 meals for hungry children, seniors, and families through a network of more than 1,000 programs and more than 200 Partner Agencies.
