FORT LAUDERDALE/DAVIE, Fla., Nov. 07, 2017 -- A new national study of U.S. colleges and universities found that Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is rated 5th for the overall number of minority graduate degree recipients, according to Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. The 30-year-old publication provides news, commentary and insight on the full range of issues concerning diversity in American education.

An NSU analysis of the Diverse study, http://diverseeducation.com/top100/pages/index.php , reflects that for all graduate level degrees, NSU ranks 2nd in Hispanic graduates and 9th in African American graduates. NSU is ranked 3rd in Masters in Business Administration degrees. In addition, NSU ranks first in professional doctorates of Dentistry to Hispanic students. NSU is the largest private institution in the United States that meets the U.S. Department of Education’s criteria as a Hispanic-serving Institution.
The 2015-2016 data collected by Diverse is based on the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). IPEDS is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which is a part of the Institute for Education Sciences with the U.S. Department of Education.
