SAN RAMON, Calif., Sept. 05, 2017 -- Nuance Energy, manufacturer of the patent-pending Osprey PowerPlatform® and developer of distributed generation solar projects through its AgWell Solar® division in California’s Central Valley, today announced the availability of a ground mount solar Cost Comparison Calculator on its website. The calculator lets users specify the system’s size in watts and various actual costs to provide a realistic comparison.
The calculator has 12 fields for entering data about the size of the system, local labor rates, crew size and anticipated days on site, and the number of foundations/piers needed. Users can also enter the cost of a geotechnical survey and equipment rental (neither of which is required for the earth anchor foundation system used with the Osprey PowerPlatform), and any other costs that should be included in a general-purpose “Additional Costs” field.
The results show both the per-watt and total project costs for both systems, as well as the cost savings with the Osprey PowerPlatform. Labor savings, also on a per-watt and total project basis, are shown separately, as are the time-to-complete and time savings for the project.
“The Osprey PowerPlatform is, without a doubt, the easiest, fastest and least expensive ground mount solar solution available today,” says Brian C. Boguess, Nuance Energy’s co-founder and CEO. “The calculator is designed to quantify the savings EPCs, contractors and installers should expect to receive compared to using racking systems with conventional foundations.”
