ORLANDO MAGIC PLAYERS AND SOUTHWEST AIRLINES EMPLOYEES TEAMED UP AND TRADED PLACES TO CELEBRATE ONGOING PARTNERSHIP

Orlando, Florida, Nov. 07, 2017 -- It’s not every day that a professional basketball player collecting your boarding pass as you board your flight or a Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent is helping to fly the Southwest Airlines blimp during a Magic game. In celebration of the partnership between the Orlando Magic and Southwest Airlines, employees and players stepped into each other’s roles, displaying true team work.

Magic players Arron Afflalo and Bismack Biyombo headed to the airport recently to try their hand at the airline operation along with surprising Customers at Orlando International Airport. Players joined Southwest Employees to assist with marshalling in an aircraft, welcoming Customers to Orlando, and taking boarding passes to make Southwest Customers’ travel experience nothing short of a slam dunk! Joining in on the fun was Magic Community Ambassador Bo Outlaw, the Magic Blue Crew and STUFF the Magic Mascot. 

Southwest employees jumped in on the action as well, as they attended the Orlando Magic home game on Nov. 3 when the Magic hosted the Chicago Bulls for Southwest Airlines Night. Employees supported the Orlando Magic team by assisting the on-court Southwest Flyaway Challenge in the first quarter, flying the in-arena Southwest Airlines blimp, distributed Southwest Airlines rally towels to the first 6,500 fans, watched the players shoot-around pregame from courtside and received a VIP tour of Amway Center.
