It would seem that the “One Piece” Anime is going to experience a rather huge change if news about the studio behind the show looking for a new designer is true. This is not exactly surprising, especially when considering how the characters look a bit different than they were in the first episode. It would seem that they will undergo another evolution soon, but only if this new development pans out.
A new report coming out of Japan is basically causing fans of “One Piece” Anime to lose their minds, Comic Book reports. This is due to the potential impact of the news, specifically with regards to the changes that the character appearances could have. There is a lot riding on how certain players in an anime look and bad decisions can lead to bad ratings.
Now, it’s worth pointing out that even though the characters and the animation itself has become more polished over the years, the main figures in the “One Piece” Anime have looked largely the same. With a new designer, however, this could change and not entirely for the better. Depending on the decisions made, future episodes could make the designs of Luffy and his friends less exaggerated.
A cornerstone for the design of the characters in the “One Piece” Anime is how ridiculous they seem to look. Proportions are all completely out of whack, with waists being too thing, breasts being too big, and eyes being even larger than the usual standards of anime. A new designer can either rein all of that in or could push them even further.
This is why fans of the “One Piece” Anime are freaking out and why the potential for a new character designer is such huge news. There is still so much story to tell with regards to the adventures of the Straw Hats and it could all end based on a wonky nose.
