The release of “One Piece” Chapter 917 has been pushed back for a week, with the author taking a well-deserved break. Eiichiro Oda will need the rest since the Wano arc is really heating up, with the previous chapter looking like the beginning of an epic fight. Luffy and Zoro just caused a mess in a village full of government officials, so a battle is just inevitable now.
As The Inquistr reports, Oda has decided to take this week off for a break. This means that fans will have to wait another few days to find out what happens as Luffy attempts to rescue O-Tama from the clutches of Holdem. Will they succeed in taking her back or will Trafalgar Law intervene to prevent the fight from escalating any further? The answers will need to wait until “One Piece” Chapter 917 is released.
With regards to what fans can expect from “One Piece” Chapter 917, it’s worth anticipating a fight between Holdem, Luffy, Zoro, O Kiku, Basil Hawkins, and Law. As of now, it seems Holdem will be facing Luffy, with the Straw Hat captain’s other two companions likely facing Hawkins and his crew.
This could always change, with the situation being dependent on which side Law will take in the fight, but this dynamic seems about right. If previous arcs of the series are any indication, this is about the time when the big boss himself will start to get involved. This means that “One Piece” Chapter 917 could be when Kaidou starts to move, but there’s no guarantee that this will be the case.
In any case, “One Piece” Chapter 917 will release on Sept. 12 instead of this week, Otaku Art notes, so fans should shift their expectations accordingly. This delay might be worth it, in the end, if it means that Oda can produce excellent narratives in the future.
