The battle between Luffy and Katakuri continues in “One Piece” episode 854. This time, the full power of the Mogura is expected to be unleashed while Luffy could end up using his Gear Fourth.
“One Piece” episode 854 is titled “The Threat of Mogura -- Luffy's Silent Fight,” which hints that fans will be witnessing Katakuri’s trident pummeling Luffy. Based on the preview for the next episode, it looks like Katakuri still has the upper hand for the most part of the battle.
Katakuri continues to give out offensive blows while looking unscathed. On the other hand, Luffy has already suffered several bruises and is constantly on the run to avoid Katakuri’s attacks in “One Piece” episode 854.
Katakuri is likely getting annoyed that his battle with Luffy avoids him from having his snacks. To end it once and for all, Katakuri will go for the fatal attacks in “One Piece” episode 854 using his trident called the Mogura.
The “One Piece” episode 854 preview also mentioned several plot details that resemble what happened in this particular battle in the manga series. For one, the trailer confirmed that Katakuri will attack with the Mogura combined with the power of Mochi Mochi no Mi or Willow Mochi. If fans would recall from the manga, the Willow Mochi is another technique Katakuri has in attacking his enemies.
He will probably realize that Luffy is preparing to activate his Gear Fourth. So before Luffy can do that, Katakuri uses the Willow Mochi to restrain him in “One Piece” episode 854.
In the manga, Katakuri’s move is effective. But Luffy outsmarted him by eating all the mochi to free himself. This makes the use of Gear Fourth very likely in “One Piece” episode 854. But this is not how Luffy wins this match.
Noticing that the “One Piece” episode 854 title includes the phrase “Luffy’s Silent Fight,” there is a great chance that the next episode will cover the end of Luffy and Katakuri’s Battle. Though vicious, Katakuri honors his words. At the beginning of their battle, they vow to have a one-on-one fight.
Katakuri will later realize that someone else interfered in their battle and hurt Luffy so he will lose his focus. This means Katakuri has been fighting an unfair battle all along. And this will lead to an unexpected end to their match, which will hopefully be told in “One Piece” episode 854 on Sept. 23.
