“One Piece” Episode 857 is going to be an explosive one as Luffy and Katakuri continue to battle it out. That battle, however, has been one-sided so far, with Luffy on the receiving end of the beatings. Katakuri has proven to be an overwhelming match for the straw hat-wearing pirate captain as the antagonist has the ability to predict his opponent's moves, OtakuKart reported.
Indeed, since the two started fighting, Luffy hasn’t landed a single blow on Katakuri. Meanwhile, Katakuri has been laying devastating attacks on the beloved protagonist. But that is going to change in “One Piece” Episode 857 as Luffy will finally be able to uncover the weakness of Katakuri.
“One Piece” Episode 857 will have Luffy discover that Katakuri is using the Kenbunshoku Haki in order to heighten his senses. This drastic state of intense mental focus is what’s allowing Katakuri to foresee incoming attacks from his opponent. However, the Haki only works if the user is in a calm state of mind.
In “One Piece” Episode 857, Katakuri is going to lose his composure after his real visage has been revealed, something that the character went to great lengths to keep hidden. As Katakuri’s focus wavers, so too does the effectiveness of his Haki.
Luffy will then exploit this window and finally land several powerful blows using his Gear Fourth. However, Gear Fourth has its time limitation, which will force the straw hat captain to race against time in order to put Katakuri down for good. Unfortunately, Luffy will not be able to end the fight right then and there as his abilities wane. And with Katakuri finally pulling himself together to regain his composure in “One Piece” Episode 857, Luffy is going to be on the receiving end of a battering once again.
Dire as Luffy’s situation is, he does know the weakness of Katakuri, which will play a vital role in ultimately defeating the character. “One Piece” Episode 857 is slated for release on Oct. 14, with both the characters’ struggles expected to bleed over to future episodes.
