It would seem that there is a lot of abilities related to haki in the world of “One Piece,” and Luffy might be close to finally using one of the most difficult. In “One Piece” Episode 866, the young pirate is expected to finally be able to predict the future through the power of his haki. This is a major step in the right direction to finally beating Katakuri.
As viewers who have been watching the Big Mom arc already know, Katakuri’s biggest advantage against Luffy is his ability to see a few seconds into the future. As long as he maintains a calm disposition, he will always know what his opponent will do next. This then allows him to minimize or completely negate any damage that he receives from them. This could change in “One Piece” Episode 866.
The previous episode saw the Sweets commander realizing that Luffy was also beginning to see the future, just like him. This means that the only advantage that the fighter has will be significantly reduced in its effectiveness. After all, Luffy is more than capable of damaging Katakuri and the only reason he has barely been able to is his future sight. The Straw Hat captain will finally grasp this ability, as well, in “One Piece” Episode 866.
Once he does, Luffy can finally begin to fight Katakuri on more even grounds and this will eventually lead to the former’s victory. So, does this mean that the aspiring king of the pirates has mastered haki? Far from it, but his limited grasp might finally put an end to their fight in “One Piece” Episode 866.
With the Big Mom arc going on for quite some time, viewers are itching for a change of scenery. Until then, they can watch “One Piece” Episode 866 as it comes out in Dec. 23.
