'One Piece' episode 897 release date, spoilers: Tama mourns Ace's death; Luffy finds Zoro

Fans are finally coming back to Wano after a two-part filler to promote the release of the movie “One Piece: Stampede.” The continuation of the main story arc begins in “One Piece” episode 897, and it is going to build up to another epic encounter, this time, with Basil Hawkins attacking Luffy and Zoro.

“One Piece” episode 897 will pick up from the important installment a couple of weeks ago that revealed how Luffy’s brother, Portgas D. Ace, left great memories to Tama and the people living in the Amigasa Village. Now, Luffy becomes more inspired to help Tama after learning how close she became with Ace.

As Hitetsu narrated, they live in dire poverty and the always smiling Tama has actually not been eating for days when Luffy met her. However, there was a time when they lived abundantly after Ace, and his crew helped them rebuild Amigasa. Unfortunately, Hitetsu and Tama only learn of Ace’s death through Luffy. While suffering from starvation and weakness, Tama will be devastated by the news she hears in “One Piece” episode 897.

“One Piece” episode 897 picks up from Hitetsu’s storytelling, and learning of Tama’s friendship with Ace motivates Luffy to find food and a doctor for her. Before they can reach the capital, they have to go through Wano’s wasteland.

During Luffy and Tama’s trip, fans can expect a few more flashback scenes with Ace as the girl finds it difficult to accept that he has already died. Three years ago, Ace promised Tama they will come back to Wano, and if Tama grows up to become a ninja, he might let her join his pirate crew. As soon as they arrive in the wasteland in “One Piece” episode 897, Luffy becomes excited about the huge animals and sees them as food.

Luffy will notice Tama's fever getting worse when, all of a sudden, he sees a samurai helping a woman in trouble. That is going to be Roronoa Zoro, much to Luffy's delight. Their meeting is likely the highlight of “One Piece” episode 897.

As expected, Luffy asks Zoro about food, and everything goes well with their surprise reunion when Hawkins and his men suddenly show up. “One Piece” episode 897 might not have enough time to cover the entire confrontation of Luffy and Zoro with Hawkins who is now a headliner of Beasts Pirates. But that is for a good reason.

Expect Hawkins to use his sorcery devil fruit against Luffy and Zoro in the next battle in Wano arc. “One Piece” episode 897 will be released on Sunday, Aug. 11.
