Viz Media has been quiet about the much-awaited “One Punch Man” season 2 since they acquired the rights for the beloved manga. Most of the news from the media giant has been about recent manga releases for the series and hype for their upcoming “One Punch Man" Serious School Festival event to happen on Aug. 12.

ONE and Yusuke Murata, respectively the creator and artist of “One Punch Man,” and the official “One Punch Man” Twitter page, have also been quiet about a potential season 2 for the series. All of them have simply been retweeting about the takoyaki stalls that will be present at the Serious School Festival and the “One Punch Man” season 1 marathons being aired to celebrate the upcoming event.

Aside from the Takoyaki stalls, fans are also told to expect a lot of “One Punch Man” giveaways and merchandise during the event.

But recently, known anime industry observer YonkouProductions just released a rumor that the “One Punch Man" Serious School Festival will be the debut date of the first episode of “One Punch Man” season 2.

While rumors of an episode 1 debut for “One Punch Man” season 2 are very welcome for fans, YonkouProductions does also say that the rest of the series will be released by winter of 2020 – almost two more years of waiting after the supposed premiere episode.

For the real deal, fans should look towards the “One Punch Man" Serious School Festival as a solid confirmation for news regarding the show's second season.

Viz Media has yet to post any confirmation or denial of the rumor on their social media channels. Fans who are very excited for the potential “One Punch Man” season 2 episode 1 debut should manage their expectations when the “One Punch Man" Serious School Festival reveals more about the series' future on Aug. 12.
