“Outlander” Season 4 is set to make its return after being absent from television for nearly a year. Fans have been waiting for what’s going to be the next phase for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) as the previous season saw them experiencing a shipwreck and getting washed up on the shore of the American colonies.
New challenges will be awaiting the couple in “Outlander” Season 4 as they set to embark on a new adventure in these new regions they find themselves in. But it isn’t just them who are going through hardships this next installment as their daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton), is also expected to fall into a tragedy of her own, Celebrity Insider reported.
This tragedy will be perpetrated by Irish pirate Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers), a new addition to the historical time-traveling drama and who will be one of the antagonists in “Outlander” Season 4. In the source material, Brianna is sexually assaulted by the pirate, which left the character scarred.
Viewers will find out if the rape scene will be included in “Outlander” Season 4 but it’s pretty clear that Brianna is set to confront some pretty big challenges moving forward. But she’s not going to face them alone as aside from reuniting with her parents, Brianna’s boyfriend, Roger Mackenzie (Richard Rankin), will also be by her side.
But before Roger becomes part of the Fraser family, he and Jamie will first exchange blows in “Outlander” Season 4. That is, of course, according to the book “Drums of Autumn.”
In it, Jamie and Roger first get to meet each other when the latter tells the former that he is there to “claim his wife.” Not knowing who Roger is, coupled with Jamie’s misunderstanding of what the stranger means, the patriarch of the Frasers wails at Roger and puts a sound beating on him.
There are definitely a lot of complications for Jamie, Claire, and the rest of the Fraser family moving forward. However, given how they handled all their challenges in the past, it’s likely that these obstacles will only make these characters stronger. How strong they will be remains to be seen and fans will have to find out when “Outlander” Season 4 finally returns on Nov. 4.
