“Overlord” Season 4 will be continuing on the adventures of Ainz as he takes on an even bigger conflict and proceeds to oversee his emerging nation. He develops an idea that this new kingdom will be a safe haven for all races where all of them can coexist without bumping horns.
While this is a noble idea, Ainz’s lofty goals will meet an obstacle coming in the form of his own incompetence at running an entire nation. Slowly, the overpowered sorcerer will be faced with one problem after another, among them the diminishing resources needed to feed all his subjects. Of course, with a lot of manpower under his command, the skeleton will eventually solve this complication in “Overlord” Season 4.
In the meantime, Ainz is also poised to visit the Dwarven Kingdom with Shalltear Bloodfallen and Aura Bella Fiora acting as his escort. “Overlord” Season 4 will have the sorcerer encounter runes that aren’t present in the game world, which spurs him to seek the expertise of Dwarven Runesmiths.
However, the dwarves will not be able to help Ainz as they’re facing a looming threat from the encroaching Quagoa, mole-like humanoids that are also inhabiting the same mountain as the dwarves. Thus, “Overlord” Season 4 will have Ainz offering his assistance to the dwarves with the promise of helping him understand the mysterious runes after everything’s been resolved.
But it turns out that the matter is far more complicated than it seems. Apart from the Quagoa, “Overlord” Season 4 will reveal that the mole-like creatures have allied themselves with the Frost Dragons. However, this alliance is nothing more than a farce for the ice-breathers as their leader intends to use the Quagoa to ultimately enslave the dwarves having deemed them more valuable than their current allies.
Unfortunately for the Frost Dragons, Ainz proceeds to kill their leader with a single attack using Grasp Heart, a favorite finisher of the skeleton. Following the brief confrontation, the body of the Frost Dragon’s leader is carried towards Nazarick where it has been stored for future use. With regards to the release date of “Overlord” Season 4, there’s still no news about the matter. Part of the reason why Madhouse maintains its silence about the fourth installment is due to the complications posed by its source material. At best, it may come out in the latter parts of 2019. At worst, it may be dropped sometime in 2021.
