Developer Tencent Games issued “PUBG Mobile” update 0.7.0 on Tuesday, adding some of the highly anticipated features, including the War Mode, an all-new clan system, and the SLR sniper rifle.
The War Mode is staple gameplay in the PC version of the game. Its “PUBG Mobile” counterpart has the basic gameplay mechanics. Players join every match as a team. They will be dropping into a selected area of either the Erangel or the Miramar map.
“PUBG’s” War Mode is similar to other title’s deathmatch gameplay. This means that “PUBG Mobile” players can still die within the match but lives are immediately respawned since the main goal is to reach the target score.
War Mode on PC requires a higher number of target score to win. But in its “PUBG Mobile” version, the top score is 100. The first team to reach that wins the match. Meanwhile, there are three ways to earn points: three points for an instant kill, one point for finishing a knocked out opponent, and one point for every successful revive.
Meanwhile, Tencent Games is obviously aiming to improve the team-gaming aspect of “PUBG Mobile.” In the update released this week, developers also introduced the Clan System. “PUBG Mobile” players can form their own clans and rise through the ranks to entice more players to join. The new Clan System also allows players to customize their unique clan avatars.
Another exciting addition to “PUBG Mobile” through update 0.7.0 is the SLR sniper rifle. Tencent Games even described this weapon as a “deadly” one in its press release (via Gamasutra). The SLR is closely compared to the SKS.
However, the SLR sniper rifle became a weapon of choice among PC players for causing bigger damage to enemies. Meanwhile, compatible grip and scope accessories have also been added to “PUBG Mobile” along with the arrival of the new sniper rifle.
“PUBG Mobile” is a free gaming app on Android and iOS. Though many of the game’s cosmetic items can be purchased through microtransactions, updates such as 0.7.0 are released for free.
