LaLiga inked a strategic licensing agreement with technology firm StadioPlus to launch a joint project in the Decentraland metaverse.
The rights to LaLiga's intellectual and industrial property are acquired by the Spanish company StadioPlus for usage in Decentraland.
Several land parcels in the Vegas City neighborhood of Decentraland will be developed with LaLiga themes as part of the agreement, which aims to increase LaLiga's appeal to Gen Z viewers.
Web 3.0 expert Vegas City, owner of Decentraland's greatest sports, casino, and entertainment complexes, will have a direct hand in LaLiga's entry into the metaverse.
LaLiga's head of franchises and licensing, Stephen Ibbotson, claims that they will be able to connect with a sizable new audience through the deal.
