PerkinElmer named Dr. Kaveh Kahen president of its Analytical & Testing Solutions (ATS) business, putting him in charge of product development, AI and digital lab tools, and customer service over the working lives of its instruments.
The company announced the appointment on Nov. 2, 2026. It said Kahen’s priorities include advancing new products, bringing AI and digital resources into laboratory processes, and supporting customers as they use the instruments.
PerkinElmer pointed to three recent ATS offerings: the Spotlight Aurora-I FTIR microscope, Clarus Nova GC and Avio 3000 ICP-OES. The company said LabPilot, a connected platform, remains in development.
PerkinElmer CEO Michael Stubblefield called Kahen “the right leader for ATS.” Kahen described the appointment as “a transformative moment for the business.”
PerkinElmer’s executive biography says Kahen returned to the company in November 2026 after serving as Abcam’s president. Abcam announced his appointment to that role on June 8. Before Abcam, Kahen led Phenomenex; PerkinElmer identifies both companies as Danaher operating companies.
Earlier at PerkinElmer, Kahen oversaw global research and development and the mass spectrometry business, according to the company’s biography. It credits him with more than 20 years of leadership across life sciences and analytical technology. His academic credential is a doctorate in analytical chemistry from The George Washington University; PerkinElmer also lists him among the inventors on 10 U.S. patents.
