Pizza Hut signs a deal with Shudder for the upcoming Halloween celebration. The pizza chain launches a special promo for the occasion where customers can enjoy spooky movie streaming through Shudder, an American over-the-top (OTT) subscription video-on-demand service that features horror, thriller, and supernatural fiction movies.
Aside from the free Shudder movie offering, Pizza Hut is also including its original Stuffed Crust Pizza to complete the "scary, good deal" campaign for Halloween. The restaurant will sell this pizza option for only $12.99, and customers can munch on them while watching spooky flicks on Shudder.
Starting Oct. 27, consumers can order a large size one-topping Original Stuffed Crust pizza, and until Oct. 30, the first 200,000 fans will be given access on Shudder for a 30-day free trial. The free access is courtesy of Pizza Hut as part of the deal with the AMC-owned and operated streaming service provider.
As posted on Pizza Marketplace, Pizza Hut customers can log in and sign up for a trial account on Shudder.com to enjoy free viewing for a month. Interested people must enter the promo code "STUFFEDCRUST" to successfully claim their free trial.
Once registered, customers will be given access to an early release of the second episode of Shudder's "Behind the Monsters" original docu-series during the Pizza Hut "Originals Takeover" on Shudder TV promotion.
The debut season of the "Behind the Monsters" series will feature popular horror movie villains, including Chucky, Candyman, Freddy Kreuger, Jason Voorhees, and Pinhead. Each of the episodes will center on one character, and interviews with directors, actors, writers, and horror experts will be shown as well.
"Halloween is a big day for us. In fact, it's one of our top five busiest days of the year," Pizza Hut chief marketing officer Lindsay Morgan said in a press release. "We knew we had to do something fun for our customers and what's a better treat than a deal on one of our most iconic pizzas and the excuse to binge spooky movies to your hearts' delight on Shudder? It's the perfect pairing."
