Many are expecting the next-generation consoles from Sony and Xbox will have virtually similar hardware specs and features. But other avid gaming fans believe that the PlayStation 5 might have a slight edge when it comes to the lineup of exclusive games.
Over the years, Sony has acquired a number of video game studio companies that are now grouped under the Sony Interactive Entertainment division. Now, there are rumors that one of its projects, in line with the PlayStation 5 release, is to recreate Sony’s own Battle Royale game.
PlayStation 5 games: Improved version of ‘PS All-Stars Battle Royale’ in the making?
Earlier this week, a new PlayStation 5-related rumor surfaced on 4Chan (which was then shared on Reddit) claiming that Sony wants to revive a project that would bring a new version of the “PS All-Stars Battle Royale” to the PlayStation 5 console in 2021. The informant identified himself as an employee of Capcom USA, but other than that, there is no way of verifying the report. So fans are advised to take this with a pinch of salt.
The first release of the game included characters from Sony’s IPs such as “God of War,” “Infamous,” and “Sly Cooper” as well as games from other developers like “BioShock.” The rumored “PS All-Stars Battle Royale” for PlayStation 5 will reportedly feature characters like Kratos, Nathan Drake, Ellie of “The Last of Us,” a couple of “Street Fighter” characters, Cloud of “Final Fantasy,” Spider-Man, and more. The lineup seems to be appealing, though, fans should still wait for the official word.
PlayStation 5 release date, leaks: Next-generation console to be announced in early 2020
Supposed information leaks are a common thing in the gaming industry. Just a few weeks ago, another online post circulated claiming to have details about Sony’s announced plans for PlayStation 5.
The information claimed that Sony eyes Feb. 12, 2020, as the schedule for the PlayStation 5 unveiling event called “PlayStation Meeting.” This report suggests that Sony wants to highlight how its IPs would run in the next-generation console, so titles like “Death Stranding” and “The Last of Us Part 2” are slated to be presented in the same stage.
