While “Niantic Labs” is having some trouble with “Pokemon Go” with absolutely no indication that they are trying to address the matter, “Pokemon Sun and Moon” is out, and it features some frankly interesting additions. With new transformations, new attacks, and even an accessory, could this new installment be enough to reinvigorate the legendary franchise?
Kotaku goes through the most drastic additions to the world of “Pokemon,” thanks to what is called the “Alola Forms.” These forms are basically a new tier to the transformations that fans are already accustomed to, such as evolutions among all “Pokemons” and selective transformations with critters like “Evee.”
The new feature essentially allows “Pokemon” to assume the forms and elements that are different from what they originally had. Fire breeds can become Ice ones and vice versa. This adds a fresh perspective to how “Pokémon” are usually handled and trained, giving trainers more options to choose from.
Then there are the so-called “Z-Moves,” which are more powerful attacks that can only be used once in every battle, Digital Trend reports. These “Z-Moves” feature some frankly terrifying names, promising devastation when used against the opposing team during a battle.
Among the new attacks is the “Gigavolt Havoc” by “Pikachu,” which sounds impressive, particularly coming from such as a cute mouse. In the recently released trailer, the franchise mascot used this attack to completely destroy the “Sandshrew” it was fighting against, thus showcasing how much of a game-changer this new addition is.
Finally, there’s the “Z-Ring,” which is an accessory that connects to the game. According to Engadget, the item will light up, vibrate and make a noise once a player a “Z-Move.” One thing to note is the fact that the “Z-Ring” is actually not a ring, but a bracelet. The item is made and manufactured by “Tomy International,” and it will hit stores on Nov. 18.
