Police in Quetta said Tuesday they were investigating the abduction of Prince Muhammad Khan Ahmedzai, son of Suleman Khan Dawood, the current Khan of Kalat.
The police account places the incident Monday night on the road linking Khuzdar and Kalat, where armed men stopped Ahmedzai’s vehicle. Police said Ahmedzai was taken alongside three gunmen who were traveling with him.
Authorities said the four were taken to an unknown location.
A Balochistan police official told AFP both drivers died after a Karachi-bound coach collided with a vehicle carrying local passengers in the Uthal area.
The military said the Oct. 22 incidents involved attempted attacks at two locations; Field Marshal Asim Munir vowed to continue counterterrorism operations.
A Balochistan official said the closure had lasted five days. A Gwadar trader said the policy had cost importers and exporters billions of rupees.
