KANSAS CITY, Mo. and POMONA, Calif., April 03, 2017 -- Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) has selected Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, to implement its integrated electronic health record (EHR) system. PVHMC’s hospital and outpatient facilities will transition to Cerner Millennium®, replacing the Cerner Soarian Clinicals® platform, the NextGen® ambulatory system and several additional legacy suppliers. PVHMC will retain its investment in Cerner Soarian Financials®.
The not-for-profit community health system offers a full range of inpatient services at the 437-bed hospital and outpatient services across a dozen ambulatory and urgent care facilities throughout the greater Pomona Valley region.
“Cerner has fulfilled its promise to not only maintain and support its acquired platforms, but also support decisions that are in the best interest of our organization,” said Kent Hoyos, CIO, PVHMC. “We are confident in the company’s ability to smoothly integrate the two platforms and continuously offer robust and sophisticated solutions.”
PVHMC has a strong reputation for excellence in care delivery and has been honored with multiple national recognitions. Healthgrades awarded PVHMC with the 2016 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ and named it the only hospital in southern California to achieve the 2015 Specialty Excellence Awards in Cardiac Surgery, Coronary Intervention and Overall Heart Care. The organization also received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for the Certification of Distinction in the Management of Sepsis, Diabetes, Stroke, Total Joint and Palliative Care.
“We are proud to keep this longtime Siemens client in the Cerner family,” said Dick Flanigan, president, Cerner HS. “We look forward to supporting Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s top-notch clinical and IT staff as the organization continues to strive for even higher levels of success.”
As a testament to PVHMC’s accomplishments, Los Angeles County certified the opening of a new regional Trauma Center in March.
