The 2017 Data Center Excellence Award recognizes the most innovative and enterprising data center vendors who offer infrastructure or software, servers or cooling systems, cabling or management applications. This year’s judging panel selected PDI for providing the most versatile and safest PDU on the market.
“PDI has displayed its commitment to quality and innovation in the development of the data center industry,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “I look forward to witnessing continued excellence from PDI and their efforts toward improving the future of the data center industry.”
Capturing the award is PDI’s PowerPak 2 for offering a combination of flexibility, modularity and a patent-pending 3D access window that allows true front access (TFA) for service and maintenance with a panel board and/or subfeed distribution in the main cabinet. Additional features include:
- Smallest Footprint in the Industry - Accommodates up to a 400kVA DOE 2016 transformer while maintaining a TFA main cabinet size of 42” width.
- Flexible In-Cabinet and Side-Car Distribution Options - Offers multiple distribution panelboard and subfeed options in-cabinet and in optional side cars.
- Power Compartmentalization - Isolated compartments for both high and low power components, simplify maintenance while offering increased safety.
- Intelligent Power Monitoring - PDI’s Branch Circuit Monitoring System (BCMS) allows for the proactive management of power usage and availability.
- Adaptable Service Entrances - Landing service entrance cables has never been easier with Top/Bottom Entry/Exit configurations.
“Data center operators need to minimize the space power equipment occupies and also ensure the safety of workers during maintenance procedures,” said Evan Owen, Global Product Manager, Power Distribution, Inc. “PDI’s PowerPak 2 checks off all of the boxes when it comes to footprint, efficiency and safety. We are proud that infoTech Spotlight has validated our power solution’s unique innovation with a Data Center Excellence Award.”
