‘Preacher’ season 1’s episode 3 is set to feature Jesse’s continuing discovery of his new powers upon possession of Genesis. Cassidy helps him control and understand his abilities while Tulip struggles to enlist him to her cause. Meanwhile, Fiore and DeBlanc continue to hunt him down.
The short synopsis posted on Comic Book Movie states, “Cassidy helps Jesse explore his newfound power; based on new information, Tulip tries to convince Jesse to seek revenge.”
On the previous episode, entitled “See”, Jesse (Dominic Cooper) finds out that his friend Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) reveals that he is actually a hundred-year-old vampire. Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) continues to try and lure him to the dark side by asking for help to do a “job”. Jesse begins struggling with God’s silence but later discovers new found abilities after the demon-angel entity Genesis possesses him.
According to Christian Times, the upcoming episode finds Jesse discovering more about his powers. Jesse struggles to take control of his abilities with Cassidy giving him ideas on how he could possibly use these. The small-town preacher decides that he would use his powers for the redemption of mankind by stopping ordinary people from carrying out bad deeds.
Meanwhile, Tulip’s vengeance continues to consume her as she struggles with bringing justice into her own hands while trying to convince Jesse to join her. The two Adelphi angels Fiore (Tom Brooke) and DeBlanc (Anatol Yusef) supposedly killed by Cassidy in a church in the last episode turn out to be alive and continue to hunt Jesse down in order to take Genesis out of his body.
