The lengthy synopsis for “In the Eye Abides the Heart” posted on TV Guide reads, “One of the liars is blackmailed by A.D. and begins to pass to the dark side to protect those closest to her; Det. Furey (Nicholas Gonzalez) questions how much the group knows about what happened to Archer Dunhill (Huw Collins);
Aria (Lucy Hale) gives Ezra (Ian Harding) an ultimatum; Emily (Shay Mitchell) struggles with how to support Ali (Sasha Pieterse); Spencer (Troian Bellisario) meets with Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) and encounters Wren (Julian Morris); Hanna (Ashley Benson) sets out to prove her friend is innocent and uncovers even more troubling info; and another person is brought in on the secret of A.D.'s game.”
Episode 14 was a tough one for Ali as she took her turn in the game. According to the recap on Entertainment Weekly, she was forced to make a drastic decision to terminate her pregnancy but was haunted by A.D. with her time at the psychiatric hospital and was wheeled into an operating room.
She was then traumatized by the fact that Emily was the mother of her child as it was her donated eggs implanted in her uterus. Emily, on the other hand, continued to struggle with work at Rosewood High and found out about Ali’s pregnancy. She is set to struggle with helping Ali in the upcoming episode as the two face the pregnancy imposed upon them by A.D.
Meanwhile, Aria continued to doubt her relationship with Ezra after Nicole’s (Rebecca Breeds) arrival. She is set to give Ezra an ultimatum in the new episode.
