Prince William, Kate Middleton divorce rumors: Why the cheating narrative is a fabrication

Prince William and Kate Middleton appear happy despite divorce rumors plaguing their relationship. It first started when The Sun published an article stating that the Duchess of Cambridge has cut ties with Rose Hanbury, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley.

It’s unclear what caused the fallout – or if there was any, to begin with – but rumors claim that it was due to Prince William having an affair with Hanbury. Kate Middleton has yet to comment about the rumors, and it’s unlikely that she will.

Indeed, even the palace has brushed off the allegations and treated it as the rumor that it is. Months after the cheating rumors spread, no evidence has surfaced, and reliable publications haven’t covered the story. There was also no indication whatsoever that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship is standing on thin ice, Business Times reported.

Thus, it’s safe to assume that the narrative is nothing more than a fabricated claim, blew up by gossip publications that extensively covered it. There’s also the fact that Prince William himself came from a broken family after Prince Charles and Princess Diana separated on a rather messy note. Cheating on Kate Middleton would be an insult to Diana’s memory.

It’s a well-established fact that Prince William is remarkably close to his mom and even promised her at some point that he would return her title someday when he takes up the throne. Now, Prince William’s love for Diana can be glimpse through his relationship with Kate Middleton and their three young children.

Then there’s Queen Elizabeth herself. In 2006, the queen apparently warned Prince William to ensure that his intentions toward Kate Middleton are genuine as she didn’t want another divorce to happen within the royal family. The warning was due to the couple’s relationship standing on the shaky ground back then, Sunday Express (via Express reported).

And lastly, there’s Prince Harry. In the biography “Harry: Conversations with the Prince,” it detailed how the Duke of Sussex hid his grief when Princess Diana died. The only one who pulled him out of his misery was Prince William. If Prince William really did cheat on Kate Middleton, then he wouldn’t just be disrespecting the memory of their mother, he’d be insulting the grief of his little brother as well.
