“Prison Break” season 6 is already in the works, as confirmed by Fox’s entertainment president, Michael Thorn. He made this announcement earlier this year during the Television Critics Association winter press tour event.
“We are developing a new iteration of Prison Break,” Variety quoted Thorn as saying. “It’s in very early stages of development, but we’re really excited about it.”
But while Fox’s executive verified “Prison Break” season 6’s return, he did not provide any other details related to the show. The only other thing he shared is the fact that lead stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are surely returning to give life to their characters as Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield respectively, once more.
When the show returns, fans cannot expect it to be the same as it is said to be following a new format. As mentioned on Digital Spy, FOX Network stated that it is "developing a new iteration" of “Prison Break.”
Moreover, Thorn previously said that there is a new pitch for the show and it presented a new approach to the next chapter. But he clarified that the rough draft for “Prison Break” season 6’s episodes is not available yet.
Cast
The Fox executive relayed that they are expecting everyone to return for “Prison Break” season 6. However, this can still depend on the cast member’s availability for some of them may be involved in another project.
“There’s a lot to figure out when you’re bringing back the cast of a show where they all have busy careers," Thorn explained.
Thus, assuming everyone is available, aside from Miller and Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies (Sara Tancredi-Scofield), Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note), Robert Knepper (T-Bag), Inbar Lavi (Sheba) and Amaury Nolasco (Sucre) are expected to appear in the sixth season of “Prison Break.”
Air Date
As said earlier, “Prison Break” season 6 is still in the works so the production team cannot determine a premiere date yet. They also had to consider the cast’s schedules in order to come up with a working schedule for the filming to begin, hence the air date can still change. If everything goes well, fans can probably view the program again sometime in 2019.
