“Prison Break” season 6 will most likely bring back Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner). But does he have a very big role this time — as huge as being at the center of an all-new prison break?
The development of Mahone’s character is most probably one of the best ones in the entire series. He started out as one of the few good guys in the federal agency that meant he was once a nemesis to Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) and Michael (Wentworth Miller). But all that has changed after some interesting twists, and if he ever comes back in “Prison Break” season 6, he will most likely be an ally to the brothers.
In the earlier clues provided by series creator Paul Scheuring, it was seemingly hinted that Mahone would return in “Prison Break” season 6. When a fan asked him on Twitter about the chances of Mahone’s return, Scheuring said, “Somewhere between 50-150 percent chance.”
However, the premise that would merit Mahone’s return is still a huge mystery. One possibility is that he could be the one needing Michael and Lincoln’s expertise in escaping prisons. After all, it was already suggested that Michael would go back to where it all started presumably by tattooing another escape plan and blueprint at the start of “Prison Break” season 6.
Mahone was a complete no-show in season 5. But, on a good note, he was not written off the show by killing him off-screen. So when “Prison Break” season 6 was confirmed in early 2018, one of the first questions fans had was whether or not Mahone would be coming back.
Fans saw Mahone in the season 4 finale’s four-year time skip where he visited Michael’s grave. Viewers, of course, know by now that Michael’s body was not in that location because season 5 revealed he is alive. Whether or not Mahone knows about this is still a mystery, so it would be interesting to see how he would receive the news if he ever gets back in “Prison Break” season 6.
