When “Prison Break” Season 6 was announced, fans were absolutely over the moon at the prospect of seeing their favorite characters return. It has been a long time since then, though, and hardly anything has been said about the upcoming season. This doesn’t mean that nothing is known about it since there have been some plot points speculated, such as a time jump and a prospective new generation.
It’s worth pointing out that despite the popularity of the series, the matter of “Prison Break” returning was not exactly something that a lot of fans were expecting, TVSeasons&Spoilers had recently noted. It had been off the air for years, and then Fox came out of left field to announce “Prison Break” Season 6. Suffice it to say, this took viewers by surprise, and a lot of excitement was generated.
Unfortunately, it has been some time since then, and fans have been left hanging as to what they can expect from “Prison Break” Season 6. So, to start with, looking at the matter of the time jump is crucial. Simply put, there have been a lot of speculations with regards to the upcoming season seeing a few years pass since the fifth run.
This makes sense from a storytelling point of view since the characters do look a bit older compared to when they last appeared. It would also appear that there will be some kids involved in this new telling of the story and having infants on the small screen hardly makes for a compelling plot. As such, “Prison Break” Season 6 featuring a timeline where the characters are older and with developed children makes the most sense.
As to when “Prison Break” Season 6 will actually come out, production has already started. As such, it can be assumed that a premiere date will at least be announced this year. On that note, it would be reasonable to assume that early 2020 would be the most sensible direction for the series.
