PrometheanTM, a global education technology company, announced today the appointment of Jaswir Singh as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.

“Jaswir Singh brings a significant amount of global operational, financial and general management leadership spanning nearly 30 years in the technology sector,” said Vin Riera, CEO of Promethean. “His experience will help guide Promethean as we continue to assess our overall strategy, new market opportunities, and drive operational excellence.”
Before Promethean, Singh served as group director of Veon, an international communications and technology company listed in New York and Amsterdam that provides more than 235 million customers with voice, fixed broadband, data, and internet services. Prior to Veon, Singh spent nearly eight years at ADVA Optical Networking, a listed German global manufacturer of telecom equipment. There, he concurrently served as president of the North America markets, Group Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. Singh has also served in many executive leadership positions with companies, such as Nokia, AirDefense, Equant (now known as Orange Business Services), VeriFone, and Sime Darby Limited.
Singh received a Master of Advanced Business Practice degree from the University of South Australia, a Master of Accountancy degree from Charles Sturt University in New South Wales, Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and is a professional member of CPA Australia.
