Italy's Prysmian is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire U.S.-based electrical products manufacturer Atkore Inc. in a deal that could strengthen its position in the global electrical infrastructure market. According to a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the matter, the Milan-headquartered company is finalizing an all-cash acquisition that may be announced within the next few days if discussions are successfully completed.

The proposed transaction would mark another strategic expansion for Prysmian, one of the world's leading manufacturers of power and telecommunications cables, as demand for electrical infrastructure continues to grow across industries. While the report indicates that negotiations are at an advanced stage, the terms of the agreement have not been officially confirmed, and the deal could still face changes before a final announcement.

Atkore, a U.S. manufacturer of electrical, safety, and infrastructure products, had a market capitalization of approximately $2.46 billion at Friday's market close. The company supplies a broad range of products used in commercial, industrial, utility, and infrastructure projects, making it an attractive acquisition target for companies seeking to expand their electrical manufacturing capabilities.

An acquisition would enhance Prysmian's exposure to the North American market while broadening its portfolio of electrical solutions. The move would also align with the company's long-term growth strategy of expanding through strategic acquisitions and increasing its presence in key infrastructure segments.

Investors are likely to watch closely for any official confirmation from either company, as well as details regarding the transaction value, financing structure, and expected timeline for completion. If finalized, the acquisition could represent one of the more notable deals in the electrical manufacturing sector this year, reflecting continued consolidation as companies seek greater scale and stronger positions in growing infrastructure and electrification markets.

Neither Prysmian nor Atkore has publicly commented on the reported negotiations. Until an official announcement is made, the discussions remain subject to change or potential termination.
