FREMONT, Calif., Sept. 07, 2017 -- IBC2017 – Quantenna Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:QTNA), the innovator and global leader of high performance Wi-Fi solutions, today announced the Quantenna Spartan AP Booster, leveraging its strength in Wi-Fi to enable new applications and opportunities for high performance Wi-Fi in the mainstream market.
Designed as a Wi-Fi performance upgrade for service providers with existing legacy home gateways, the Spartan AP Booster enables service providers to easily manage and optimize home Wi-Fi networks and provide maximum quality of experience for the super-connected home. With its unique architecture for upgrades, Quantenna is making the highest performance Wi-Fi cost-effective and easy to use.
Service providers are delivering high-demand broadband services, including live video, voice, security and data to multiple devices in the connected home. They rely heavily on high-capacity Wi-Fi networks, which are crucial to deploying these mission-critical services.
Quantenna’s pioneering 5GHz 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 solution addresses this market need with the QV840-based single band Spartan AP Booster. Alternatively, the QV860 version adds an additional 2x2 802.11n n/g/b radio for a dual band, dual concurrent solution. Both solutions offer a peak PHY rate of 1.7Gbits in the 5Ghz band, QV860 also supports 2.4Ghz band at an aggregate PHY rate of 2Gbps.
The Spartan AP Booster does not require home gateway replacement and allows operators to easily offer an upgraded Wi-Fi experience to their existing customers.
Quantenna Spartan AP Booster features:
- No external host processor
- Quantenna’s Zero PER (packet error rate) technology for increased reliability
- Quantenna’s Smart Channel Selection and Super DFS technology
- Quantenna’s iQStream for carrier-grade Quality-of-Service (QoS)
- MU-MIMO for enhanced performance in a multi-client environment
“We are levering our Wi-Fi excellence to offer customers with a game changing architecture to meet the high performance requirements for today’s mainstream market,” said Lionel Bonnot, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Quantenna. “Our Spartan AP Boosters represent a perfect solution for operators looking for leading-edge Wi-Fi technology upgrades for existing home gateways.”
Multiple OEM and ODM partners currently have Quantenna based Spartan AP Booster solutions in mass production today, addressing the Wi-Fi upgrade needs of service providers worldwide.
