Pine Bluff, Arkansas, June 29, 2017 -- Quest School of Pine Bluff, a ResponsiveEd® charter school, is proud to announce that six students in its 4-H program will be traveling to Washington D.C. in July to take part in the week long Citizenship Washington Focus Program.

“Our students are very excited. Not only will they get to visit Washington D.C. and experience how the government works first-hand, but they will also get to bring back what they have learned to positively impact the Pine Bluff community,” says Bridgett Harris, the science teacher and 4-H club sponsor at Quest.
At the conference, students will participate in a committee focused on healthy living, communication, government, open-mindedness, talent or responsibility. They will also take part in workshops about how bill writing works as well as how to be an active citizen. Before the students return home, they will create an action plan for addressing issues in their local community and effecting positive change.
The Quest 4-H club received a grant through its partnership with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff to help pay for transportation, program, room and board costs. However, the students are still working to raise the additional funds they will need. If you would like to help make this experience possible, email Bridgett Harris at [email protected].
