Mr. Gotthardt has more than 30 years of experience advising corporations, real estate operating companies, real estate investment trusts (“REITs”), developers, financial institutions and government entities in transactions involving billions of dollars of real estate and real estate loan portfolios. He joins FTI Consulting from Alvarez & Marsal, where he led its West Coast Real Estate Advisory practice.
Mr. Gotthardt advises clients on asset and transactions strategies, acquisitions and dispositions, investment due diligence, development planning, workouts and restructurings, underwriting and valuation. He also has performed and overseen numerous public-private partnership initiatives and transactions for public-sector clients and has advised on development and ground lease transactions. Greg has more than 20 years of experience serving as a transaction advisor to private and public-sector clients and advising on public-private partnerships. Public entities are trying to do more with less and are looking to tap into the value of their real estate to help alleviate fiscal constraints. We look forward to working with Greg to assist clients in these areas.”
Before joining Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Gotthardt was a partner in Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Advisory Services practice, where he led the firm’s real estate transaction advisory and capital markets activities on the West Coast. He serves on the Executive Committee of the University of Southern California’s Lusk Center for Real Estate, is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute (“MAI”). He is also a California licensed real estate broker.
Commenting on how Mr. Gotthardt’s appointment also expands the firm’s industry expertise, Carlyn Taylor, Global Co-Leader of the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment at FTI Consulting, said, “The industry and functional expertise our professionals bring to bear on matters that count allows us to partner with clients and help them address opportunities and challenges in a hands-on manner, which is a key reason clients consistently tell us they work with FTI Consulting. We have a deep bench of talent across industries, and Greg’s experience builds upon those capabilities for our real estate clients.”
