Adult Swim has revealed what avid followers of the American adult animated sci-fi sitcom can expect in the sophomore episode of its latest installment. Prior to "Rick and Morty" Season 7 Episode 2, viewers saw Rick reuniting with his pals for a big party that led to appearances from The Predator and Hugh Jackman. But these are just the start of wild events fans will get to see over the new season.
'Rick and Morty' Season 7 Episode 2 Release Date, Spoilers and Storyline
The forthcoming "Rick and Morty" Season 7 Episode 2 is set to premiere on Sunday, October 22, on Adult Swim at 11:00 p.m. EST. Titled "The Jerrick Trap," the imminent episode seems to feature more of Jerry and, possibly, what Morty has been up to lately.
There is no denying that both Rock and Jerry have established such a reputation across the universe over the years that a mafia leader is scared of messing with Morty – a fun dynamic that fans have, so far, not seen play out.
Comicbook suggested that "Rick and Morty" Season 7 Episode 2 could take this path, though it is still difficult to project what could be coming next in the series' latest installment.
"Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It's season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what's up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let's find out! There's probably less piss than last season. 'Rick and Morty,' 100 years! Or at least until season 10!" Adult Swim previously teased about Season 7.
New Voice Actors Replacing Justin Roiland in 'Rick and Morty' Season 7 Revealed
Adult Swim announced the departure of series co-creator Justin Roiland before "Rick and Morty" Season 7 officially premiered. Leading up to the debut of the show's latest installment, one of the major uncertainties was how the Rick and Morty team would handle the replacement of its two titular characters.
The first official trailer for "Rick and Morty" Season 7 revealed the voices of the new actors to replace Roiland as Rick and Morty. However, Adult Swim had been holding back the announcement for the voice actors behind the characters themselves.
With the premiere of "Rick and Morty" Season 7, it was revealed, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, that Harry Belden will be the new voice for Morty Smith while Ian Cardoni will be the new voice for Rick Sanchez. The duo is expected to lend their voices from the present until the future installments.
