It will not be long when fans see “Rick and Morty” season 5 because it was revealed that the production for this is almost over. This is really possible since show creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland received their order for more seasons beyond the fourth in 2018.
With the advance orders from Adult Swim, surely, the team working on “Rick and Morty” can also work on the upcoming seasons in advance. This means that they have a lot of time to prepare as they already know that they need to continue the story without waiting for a renewal announcement anymore.
Unavoidable delay in production
Roiland and Harmon also previously promised to release the new seasons of “Rick and Morty” without much delay. They know that lots of fans got upset when it took them two years to release the fourth season.
Because of this, after receiving the order for season 4, they vowed the long waiting gap will never happen again.
“I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons 3 and 4 will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous,” Harmon told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again.”
Then again, it seems that Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland will have to apologize again for a bit of delay despite their promise. And fans could forgive them because this is an unavoidable situation.
As everyone already knows, the world is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic and this has affected many film productions including “Rick and Morty” season 5. The showrunners assured fans that the series will not be as late as before because they are continuously working at home.
In fact, they revealed that they are done with the fifth season and only finishing touches remain. As proof, the teaser for “Rick and Morty” season 5 was already released last month.
The next season is being prepared by the production team
The good news is that the production for the sixth season has started already. The show creators shared that as soon as they completed the works for “Rick and Morty” season 5 they immediately moved on to the next installment.
They also teased that fans will see something different in this season as they are seriously contemplating about a crossover with another popular adult animation called “BoJack Horseman,” as per Entertainment Weekly.
