Robert Pattinson has been confirmed to star as the lead in Matt Reeves’ upcoming “The Batman” movie. He was chosen to succeed Ben Affleck in his DC Comics superhero role after the producers picked him over Nicholas Hoult.
Based on the report, Pattinson and Hoult underwent screen tests and they may have worn the bat suit as well, for the officials to see if they fit the character. Early this month, director Reeves also updated his social media with a GIF of Kristen Stewart’s ex-boyfriend and added an emoticon of a bat. Fans believe that the tweet is a confirmation that the “Twilight” actor is the next Bruce Wayne and they were right.
Robert Pattinson was chosen over Hoult because he has more experience in big productions of blockbuster movies. Plus, as mentioned on Deadline, “The Batman” needed someone who is in his early 30s as Matt Reeve’s “The Batman” will center on Bruce Wayne’s transformation or the formative stages of Batman.
In any case, after Pattinson was confirmed in the next “The Batman” movie, fans expressed their wish for Kristen Stewart to play the Catwoman. People stated that the film will be a big hit with stellar casting that includes the “Twilight” stars and even mentioned to give Taylor Lautner a role in the movie too. There is no news if the producers actually considered this idea for the new DC movie.
As Robert Pattinson prepares for another big role, Kristen Stewart was reported to have reconciled with her ex-girlfriend and Victoria Secret model, Stella Maxwell. The two were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles last week and this sparked rumors that they are back in each other’s arms after months of separation.
Stewart and Maxwell admitted to dating after they were romantically linked in 2016. The model is the actress’ first serious relationship after splitting with Robert Pattinson in 2013. They also moved in and lived together for two years before breaking up late last year.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson’s “The Batman” will be out in cinemas on June 25, 2021. The international release date is not yet confirmed.
