No, Ryan Seacrest did not suffer a stroke on the virtual finale of the American Idol last May 17, 2020.
This, as written by In Touch on its June 1, 2020, issue explaining what really happened to the television personality.
Many people who watched the American Idol finale took to their social media accounts to express their concern for the host asking if he suffered a stroke. Some also urged him to go for a check-up.
During the show, the 45-year-old host was slurring his words and his right eye appeared larger than his left eye.
Their suspicion was seemingly confirmed when Seacrest did not show-up the next day in his show with Kelly Ripa—ABC's Live With Kelly and Ryan.
Seacrest's rep clarified via a statement that the host did not suffer a stroke nor is he ill physically. Instead, he is suffering from exhaustion.
The statement further stated that Seacrest was struggling to adjust to working from home. He has to juggle several of his live shows from home without the support of his staff. In short, he has to do his live shows all by himself from his home.
Aside from American Idol and Live With Kelly and Ryan, Seacrest also hosts On Air with Ryan Seacrest and the Family Singalong specials of Disney.
A source told In Touch that all these had taken its toll on Seacrest and not even him realized it until the American Idol finale.
The statement concluded that Seacrest was taking a well-deserved day-off.
Indeed, after one day of absence, Seacrest returned to host Live with Kelly and Ryan the next day and personally made his clarifications with what happened during the American Idol show and his one-day of absence.
He also gave his thanks to everyone who showed concern and gave their well-wishes.
