Comedian Kevin Hart is commending the nationwide protests that was brought on by the May 25, 2020 death of George Floyd, a black American whose death was caused by police brutality in Minneapolis.
The 40-year-old Hart posted a screenshot of a newscast that reported that protests against police brutality have now reached 50 states.
Hart said that with the protest reaching nationwide proportions, it is power and that enough is enough. He added that it is time for a change.
This was the second time that Hart had posted something that was in solidarity with the protests.
Like so many celebrities, Hart had used his social media account to call for a lasting change and end the racism that is deeply ingrained in the United Stated before and now.
In his first post, he shared a photo of his son, two-year-old Kenzo Kash, one of three. He then wrote that he was worried about the future of the next generation of black men and the succeeding generations thereafter.
The father of three then urged that something must be done now to put in place a law so they will be protected in the streets; otherwise, police brutality will just continue.
Floyd's death was caused by an injury he suffered when police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on the back of his neck while he was lying on the ground.
He shouted that he could not breathe, but neither Chauvin or his three other fellow police officers minded. Floyd soon lost consciousness and was brought to the hospital. He later died there.
Hart added on his post that the police officers must be taken into account for what happened to Floyd. He called on the mayors and governors to act and do the right thing.
He said he would figure out how to go about to effect this change because enough is enough already, and they deserved the right to feel safe.
A BBC report had said that all police officers involved in the Floyd death had been charged.
