The National Basketball Association (NBA) will get additional content, including 75th anniversary-themed versions, to its 40 Twitter Spaces live audio feature in its extended partnership with the social media giant.
The 75th anniversary-themed versions are being planned around events, such as the Christmas Day slate, the NBA All-Star Game, and the NBA finals.
The multi-year extension will also continue Twitter’s collaboration with NBA Digital--a joint venture with US cable broadcaster Turner Sports, and the #NBATwitterLive offering--a complimentary live streaming option for NBA on TNT games.
The #NBATwitterLive will feature additional camera angles, that also invite viewers to join the second-screen live stream fans during select TNT broadcasts.
#NBATwitterLive will also offer a live look-in to the accompanying TNT broadcast, giving NBA fans on Twitter access to live game competition to drive awareness of the TNT broadcast.
Sponsorship opportunities on Twitter Spaces will also be available, giving brands new opportunities
NBA and Twitter will continue to offer real-time highlights throughout the regular season, playoffs, and finals, as well as localized content for international regions.
According to Sarah Personette, chief customer officer at Twitter, the addition of NBA Twitter Spaces, highlights, and #NBATwitterLive will allow them to deliver premium content to the NBA’s biggest fans while giving brands more opportunities to align with.
